you're going to find a bunch of Garfield the Movie haters on this page, cuz a whole group of us were on the same plane where they were showing it. And because we were not sitting together, we thought we'd bond via the movie.
About 10 minutes in...desperate eye signals all around the plane...everyone pleading (and agreeing) we could stop now.

(Although this means we did not technically watch the whole thing... i continued to check out the action on the screen, and was not tempted to put my headset back on.)
apparently, Ebert liked both Garfield 1 (three stars, "the casting is inspired") and Garfield 2 as well (3 stars). you just can't trust the guy on kids' movies. but holy crap, Ebert's review on Garfield 2 is HILARIOUS. check it out - it's from GARFIELD'S point of view.

I must say, however, that Ebert is getting soft. almost everything gets a thumbs up nowadays. I find myself trusting him less and less lately, although we still read his reviews because he's a good writer.
DAMON, that review is great. It actually makes me want to see the movie. heh.
